Saul Rose has appeared back on the scene, flourishing a lab coat and dusting off his squeezable box. He's been a star and given us some words about where he's up to at the moment with his other projects, and the possibility of some gigs with Eliza again ...
Best start at the beginning... Dansaul's petered out to one gig a year, Mark Wolley moved back up north to chester and dan and guy both have teaching jobs now. Guy's obviously still busy with LJE and tickled pink and Dan does lots of local pub gigs. There might be the possibilty of the Dan Plews Trio (minus Mark) as we had some great sessions at sidmouth 05... Hope so ;->
I started working with Paul Sartin a couple of years ago to do the odd barndance, we've done several new years eves at Paul's local village hall in Wherwell (hants) - the colonel jenkins memorial hall and we were going out as the colonel jenkins memorial band... Benji got involved with a couple and Paul obviously started thinking... So then Rob and Tim left Dr F within about a month of each other and I ended up having one of those chats in a pub at sidmouth with Paul and Benji. We decided to go with Faustus as the name and we're currently represented by Queen Mabs (Kate Longmate). Our demo recorded Jan 06 is what's on the website but we're looking at albums after we've toured in october (albums are always better if you know what you're playing!!!) so that'd be kinda dec-jan-feb
Random go from strength to strength, our last album - toadstone - is my production 'debut' and i'm pretty happy with it. You do have to like ceilidh music in the first place to enjoy but it's good fun and well played... It's on wildgoose records.
There's always the slight danger the Maclaine Colston and I might resume our duo after several years off that too. But at the mo we get drunk and pontificate on how good we were and how much work it's take to get back to that and so on .......
